How Project Alive! Helps Change Behavior:

You Choose:

Nobody sets your goals but you. You choose whether you want to work on eating more fruits and veggies, selecting healthy fats and carbs, or moving more and sitting less. You also get to choose the small steps you will take to achieve your goal. The pace with which you change your behavior is up to you (with help from Project Alive!, of course).

Tailored to Fit You:

Each of the small steps we suggest you might try is tailored to your interests and lifestyle. For instance, if you never cook, Project Alive! won’t suggest you commit to cooking a new vegetable for dinner that week. If you have kids at home, Project Alive! might suggest you commit to do a family fitness video several nights that week. The Goal Coach is also tailored to your interests and lifestyle. If you hate the idea of going to a gym, Project Alive! will suggest an alternative If you rarely eat out, Project Alive! will provide tips for how to eat healthy at home.

Taking Small Steps:

Project Alive! is based on the belief that behaviors like healthy eating and physical activity are learned and can be changed, but that changes must occur in small steps in order for them to become habits. We want you to replace your bad habits with good ones!

Tracking Your Progress:

Project Alive! encourages you to watch your progress and reward yourself as you move forward. Project Alive! provides tools to help you monitor how much you’ve accomplished. You can monitor your progress as much or as little you want.

Staying Motivated:

Project Alive! understands that many people start programs to improve their health with great enthusiasm, but that sustaining interest and motivation over time is difficult. Project Alive! provides you with tools that make it easier to keep your commitment and to stay motivated. For instance, Project Alive! encourages you to build social support – among your friends, your co-workers, your family – for your efforts. Project Alive! also helps you problem-solve the inevitable obstacles and relapses.
