This study will identify predictors of smoking cessation and assess the effect of smoking cessation on medical care use and costs using data from the 1996, 1999, and 2002 Member Health Surveys linked to Kaiser Permanente, Northern California, automated cost and utilization databases for the 12 months following each survey.
