Michael J. Silverberg, PhD, MPH, has been a Research Scientist at the Division of Research (DOR), Kaiser Permanente Northern California, since 2004. Dr. Silverberg received his doctorate in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health, in 2001. He received his MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California at Los Angeles, California, School of Public Health, in 1997. Prior to joining DOR, Dr. Silverberg was an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University. At DOR, Dr. Silverberg is developing HIV/AIDS research initiatives in conjunction with the Garfield Memorial Fund sponsored HIV Initiative.


Dr. Silverberg’s primary research interests include comorbidities associated with HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy (ART) use, including malignancies and cardiovascular disease; racial/ethnic differences in HIV treatment and outcome; analytical methods for longitudinal cohort and registry-based studies; and co-infection with HIV and human papillomavirus (HPV).
