Stephen Sidney, MD, MPH, Associate Director for Clinical Research of the Division of Research (DOR) Kaiser Permanente Northern California, since 1998, is Board certified in internal medicine and certified as a Preventive and Rehabilitative Exercise Program Director by the American College of Sports Medicine. He provides community service as a member of the Alameda County Public Health Advisory Board, as a board member of the Berkeley Society for the Preservation of Traditional Music (Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse) of a support group for parents of students with special education needs in his local school district, and as assistant coach of his son’s high school cross-country team.
Dr. Sidney has authored or co-authored more than 160 peer-reviewed scientific publications while a researcher at the DOR. His research publications cover a diverse range of topics, primarily in the area of cardiovascular epidemiology.
