M. Michele Manos PhD, MPH, DVM, is a Senior Research Scientist at the Division of Research (DOR), Kaiser Permanente Northern California. She serves as the Director of the Kaiser Permanente Viral Hepatitis Registry. Dr. Manos is also an Associate Adjunct Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of California, San Francisco. For over 22 years, she has directed both laboratory science as well as epidemiological investigations. She is also a veterinarian, focusing on wildlife and livestock population health.

Dr. Manos’s research areas have included: etiology and prevention of cervical cancer, development of human papillomavirus (HPV) testing technologies, improving cancer screening processes, community-based health asssessments in minority populations, chronic liver disease and viral hepatitis. She has collaborated on diverse issues ranging from women’s health in Afghanistan to zoonotic diseases in marine mammal workers.

    Trends and causes of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma)

    Infectious diseases at the interfaces between wildlife, domestic animals, and humans

    Emerging vector-borne diseases and human disease sequelae

    Pet safety for children
