Alan S. Go, MD, is Assistant Director for Clinical Research and a Senior Physician at the Division of Research (DOR), Kaiser Permanente, Northern California. He is also an Associate Professor in the Departments of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
On a national level, Dr. Go is the recent Chair of the National Institutes of Health’s Health Service Organization and Delivery (HSOD) study section, which focuses on clinical epidemiology and health services/outcomes research. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) Consensus Conference on Antithrombotic Therapy Workgroup on Antithrombotic Therapy for Atrial Fibrillation, as well as the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Subcommitee on Atrial Fibrillation Database and Research Development. Dr. Go’s research interests include: cardiovascular health services research and clinical epidemiology; management and outcomes of atrial fibrillation; prevention and treatment of vascular and other complications associated with chronic kidney disease; genetic predictors of cardiovascular disease; and optimizing treatment and outcomes of cardiovascular and renal disease.
