Effect of Race-ethnicity on Anti-Hypertensive Therapy and Blood Pressure Control in Patients with Ischemic Stroke
The specific aims of this study are to: 1) determine in the QUISP cohort the factors that could explain why African Americans have poorer blood pressure control compared to other races by examining potential barriers among patients with acute ischemic stroke in a large racially-diverse cohort, and 2) to determine to what extent failure to control blood pressure could account for the difference in 6 month post-stroke risk in recurrent stroke among the different races.
