The American Heart Association Outcomes Research Center (AHA-ORC)

Researchers at Kaiser Permanente Northern California and Stanford University are advancing cardiovascular outcomes research by examining key questions about the effectiveness and safety of approaches to the management of coronary heart disease and chronic heart failure within the diverse population of 3.3 million members within Kaiser Permanente Northern California.

The Cancer Research Network (CRN)

A partnership that consists of the research programs, enrolled populations, and data systems of 14 health maintenance organizations nationwide, this consortium conducts research on cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, long-term care, surveillance, and cancer communication and dissemination and implementation research.

The Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program (CTSI)

Kaiser Permanente Northern California and the University of California, San Francisco are using this partnership to examine how clinical and translational research is conducted, which will ultimately enable researchers to provide new treatments more efficiently and quickly to patients.

The Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN)

A national partnership of health maintenance organizations that conducts cardiovascular research using the scientific expertise, diverse populations, and clinically rich data sources from a consortium of 15 geographically varied health plans covering nearly 11 million members in the United States.

Translating Research Into Action for Diabetes (TRIAD)

A six-center prospective study of managed care and diabetes quality of care, costs, and outcomes in the United States, this 10-year project is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

The HMO Research Network (HMORN)

A consortium of 15 health maintenance organizations that have formal, recognized research capabilities. The HMORN uses its collective scientific capabilities to integrate research and practice for the improvement of health and health care among diverse populations.
