Candyce Kroenke, MPH, ScD is a staff scientist at the Kaiser Division of Research in Northern California. Dr. Kroenke’s work examines the influence of social determinants of health on breast cancer outcomes. Two focus areas include: 1) the influence of social roles and relationships on breast cancer progression in women and 2) how psychosocial and lifestyle factors influence the difference in breast cancer survival between White and African-American women. Dr. Kroenke’s interests more generally include biobehavioral influences on aging and chronic disease development in women across the life course. Dr. Kroenke received her doctorate in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and her Master’s and undergraduate degrees in Epidemiology and Sociology from the University of Minnesota.
