Health Care Effectiveness (HCE)

Health Care Effectiveness Research is conducted by approximately one-half of the investigators at the DOR. These investigators represent both MD and PhD experts in a wide breadth of research areas. These areas include cardiovascular disease, chemical dependency, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, maternal and child health, mental health, and health systems research.

As with Etiology and Prevention Research, investigators utilize the large patient population and extensive databases maintained by Kaiser Permanente to perform studies of a magnitude that is difficult to achieve in most other research settings. Health Care Effectiveness
